Rome · Owner & Studio Director
Rome has been dancing for 25 years, and his love for movement shows in every class he teaches. His training spans a wide range of styles: Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical, and Contemporary, plus all five International Latin dances. He's also an accomplished West Coast Swing champion and was named a California Swing Dance Hall of Fame Rising Star.
In 2013, Rome founded Creative Culture Dance Academy in San Jose with a simple belief: we are dancers first. He wanted a studio where technique and creativity grow side by side, and where every student, from a first-time two-year-old to a seasoned competitor, feels like part of a family. Today CCDA calls Campbell home and serves families across the South Bay.
At CCDA, Rome teaches Jazz, Tumbling, Lyrical, and Contemporary, and leads the studio's competition team. Some of his favorite classes are with the youngest dancers in Creative Cuties, Creative Munchkins, and Combo, where he gets to spark a lifelong love of dance from the very first step.
Laura · Ballet Instructor
Laura began her training at the Escuela Nacional de Danza in Mexico City and continued her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) training in the Bay Area. She studied at Jacob's Pillow and Boston Ballet School, majored in Dance at the Boston Conservatory, and performed with Santa Clara Ballet, San Jose Dance Theater, and Company C Contemporary Ballet, among others.
Laura has taught ballet at studios throughout the Bay Area, including Western Ballet and Gloria Mohr International Ballet School, and served as ballet mistress for Teen Dance Company and The Dance Company. Her deep classical foundation and background as a certified classical Pilates instructor give her students exceptional strength, alignment, and technique.
At CCDA, Laura teaches Ballet, guiding dancers in the classical technique that strengthens every other style they study.
Thomas · Ballet Instructor
Thomas began his dance journey through musical theatre, performing in productions from elementary school through high school, and took his first ballet class at 16 to strengthen his performances. He quickly found his passion, training at San Benito Dance Academy before earning a full scholarship to New Ballet School's summer intensive and year-round program in San José.
Thomas has performed professionally as a soloist and principal dancer with New Ballet San José and as a soloist with Twin Cities Ballet in Minnesota, with roles including the Snow King in A Minnesota Nutcracker. He is now back home dancing with New Ballet San José.
At CCDA, Thomas teaches all five levels of Ballet as well as Stretch & Conditioning. He loves getting to know each student's unique personality and watching them grow stronger and more confident as they work through challenges together.
Megan · Jazz & Contemporary Instructor
Megan is a true CCDA original! She trained and competed at Creative Culture Dance Academy, building a strong foundation in Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Acro, and Hip Hop. With 14 years of dance experience, she went on to perform and compete with the UC Santa Cruz Spirit Squad.
Now in her fifth year of teaching, Megan loves watching her students grow while helping them feel supported and excited to dance. When she's not in the studio, you'll find her at the beach.
At CCDA, Megan teaches Jazz Technique and Contemporary and works with our competition team, helping dancers bring their best to the stage.
